A couple of quick recs! These stories are short, fun, quirky (some might call them crack-y), and cheered me up considerably. I love funky AUs!

Look What We've Got! (A Fairy Tale Plot) by [info]kelleigh
Summary: As far as fairies go, Jensen's pretty elitist and a bit of a show-off. Where mortals are concerned, Jared's got a big heart and the best sense of humor. He'll need them both to deal with everything Jensen throws his way.

Yes, REALLY. Mwah!

Take the Sky by Thunder by [info]bad_peppermint
sky!pirate!Jensen and wizard!Jared, I kid you not. \o/

And now I have to go be a Responsible Adult (or act like one, rather, pfft) and take care of that dreadful RL to-do list. Bah!

This Computer and Other Shiny Things Death situation has me very concerned for my CaOST. I don't know if this is only happening on my f-list, but computers, hard drives, etc. are dying left and right at the moment. In the past two weeks I have counted (and I'm not exaggerating here) OVER TEN individual cases of CaOSTDeath! *quivers in fear*

So, Star Trek: Reboot, huh? sdfbasjgfsjdghfds!!1!

I feel like a recovered shopaholic who was handed a black Amex. OF COURSE I took it, I just didn't expect to enjoy the trip so damn much. SIGH. This version of the universe kicks so much ass, I don't know what to DO with myself now. There's too much fangirling on my f-list to just move on! But do I want to check out the fic?

Fic is DANGEROUS. What if I get sucked into the fandom! MEEP, EEP, RED ALERT. History has proven quite well that I am incapable of juggling more than one fandom. I can watch twenty tv shows and adore five movies at the same time, but being fannish about something is a full time job for me. CRAPCAKES. *sits on hands*

I'll uh, just be over here, reading the newest J2 Big Bang story. *clings*

A few days ago [info]gwentastic posted art for [info]jayhawk's Big Bang story "Apocalypse: Cancelled". Other than an awesome title banner and a magazine article there's also a soundtrack cover. I'm very disappointed that no one's asked her yet what font she used on this cover, so I'm just gonna tell you:

SHE DIDN'T. It's not a font, she wrote it herself with a brush. A BRUSH. IN PHOTOSHOP. And not using a tablet PC and pen either, she wrote it WITH THE MOUSE. I don't know about you but I've been using computer mouses for well over 20 years now but anything I'd try to write using the thing would pretty much look like the first drawing of a two year-old. (And for years and years Gwen didn't even use a mouse by the way, she used to do everything, including her fanart --!!-- using the touch pad of her old laptop. *boggles*)

So anyway, I thought y'all should know how awesome and dedicated she is when it comes to art (and plenty of other stuff!). Thanks to Skype's new screen sharing feature (=LOVE) I watched her work on the magazine article and it was a little like watching magic happen. DON'T LAUGH, I'M TOTALLY SERIOUS. I also got to listen to her curse a lot while doing the soundtrack. She must have written and erased and rewritten some one those words a bajillion times. FUN TIMES FOR ME.

I love hiatus as much as I hate it. Sure, Supernatural is on a break, but my other feel-good shows are finally, finally coming BACK. In Plain Sight and Burn Notice are already on, next month Eureka and Leverage return, and Psych does in August. Whee! Ooh, and I see they're airing the remaining episodes of Pushing Daisies, Kings, and Dirty Sexy Money! I'm glad. As much as I hate that those shows were canceled, at least we get to see how they ended.

I'm still mourning The Sarah Connor Chronicles, by the way. Fucking FOX. Not even the renewal of Dollhouse cheered me up. (Mostly because I'm still waiting for Dollhouse to wow me, and because I keep wondering if maybe we would have gotten a third season of SCC if DH hadn't been renewed. Feh.)

New shows I'm looking forward to are Eastwick with Paul Gross (PAUL GROSS!!1! HOMG) and Glee. I'm also going to check out The Vampire Diaries just to see if it manages to be cheesy without sucking. :P

Speaking of cheesy turned sucky: Primeval. I don't think they meant for me to react to the finale the way I did...? Spoilers. )

*re-reads* Oh my god, I really am a TV addict. O.O

OKAY. This is IT. The Month Of Daily Entries. \o/

If you just roflmao'd I can't even blame you. WHATEVER. I'm quiet and I don't like it, what's the point of having online journals if all you do is read your f-list and never post yourself? Pfft. SO. One entry a day for all of June and here's hoping I get so into it that the momentum carries me over into July and beyond. I CAN DO THIS, YES I CAN.

I thought about making MODE LiveJournal only but then decided to include Dreamwidth as well. I post original content at both places (ie. I don't cross-post) so I don't think that's cheating. Therefore, if I don't post at LJ but do at DW, it still counts.

Speaking of Dreamwidth, a poll!

Poll #1409096
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: None

I have a Dreamwidth account! The username is...

At Dreamwidth I...

...post original content.
12 (24.0%)

...cross-post to LiveJournal.
14 (28.0%)

...use the reading page to keep up with friends who moved.
21 (42.0%)

...back-up my Livejournal account.
13 (26.0%)

...do nothing. I want to use DW but don't know what for yet.
13 (26.0%)

...do nothing. I just wanted to secure my name.
13 (26.0%)

I don't have a Dreamwidth account...

...but am interested in getting one to secure my name.
0 (0.0%)

...but am interested in getting one because I want to play over there.
0 (0.0%)

...but am interested in getting one because I want to leave LiveJournal.
0 (0.0%)

...but am interested in getting one, though I don't know what I'd do with it.
2 (33.3%)

...and am not interested in getting one.
4 (66.7%)

At Dreamwidth I'm moonie. You're welcome to add me! I'm using the account to post original content, keep up with friends who do the same or have moved entirely, and back up this LiveJournal account. (The latter doesn't lead to spamming your reading lists, imported entries don't show up, you won't have to worry about duplicates.)

How I will be using the account in the future I'm still unsure about, although I'm not entirely adverse to the idea of moving to DW entirely since they already make it easy (and will make it even easier) to keep up with LiveJournal, so I wouldn't be losing touch with anyone. But like I said, that isn't set in stone, and right now and for the foreseeable future I'm still considering this LiveJournal account my main account and home on the 'net.

Dreamwidth's Open Beta Phase starts in 11 hours! \o/ As all Open ID accounts with validated email addresses get one invite code to create journals then, I'm about to take off all Open ID accounts I gave access to. Once you have an account, please add me with that instead and I'll add you back asap. If you missed it, at DW I'm moonie.

Speaking of Dreamwidth. All existing accounts will be getting invites to hand out soon! If you don't have an Open ID account with a validated email address at Dreamwidth and aren't on anyone else's list for a Dreamwidth invite, please drop your preferred email address in a comment to this post and I'll hook you up as soon as I'm able. I don't know how many invites I'll get so it's come first, served first.

Also, please don't delete your Open ID accounts. When someone imports their journal and comments, Open ID accounts are automatically created (eg. moonilicious.livejournal.com) to make clear who the comments are from. In the future it will be possible to link your Dreamwidth account to your Open ID account(s), which will turn your Open ID comments into comments from your actual DW account. Which is awesome! If you delete your Open ID account(s), however, your imported comments will appear with a strike through. This is not only ugly, there's also the danger of your Open ID account(s) being purged and your comments disappearing. This is bad! There was talk about fixing this (ie. making Open ID accounts unpurgable) but I don't know if this already happened. So for now, please don't delete your Open ID account(s)! Thank you. <3

eta; Forgot to pimp out my DW communities! Feel free to join:

supernatural: All things Supernatural. (Except for fic.) About the show in general.
j2: All things Jared Padalecki / Jensen Ackles. (Except for fic.)
j2fic: Jared Padalecki / Jensen Ackles fic.

I'm not really here, this is an illusion, oooh-aaah!

Snagged this icon from [info]misty_creates:

Keywords: OMGHISFAAAAACE. <3!!1!eleven!

All the Aussie Con squee makes me SO VERY HAPPY. Oh, boys. <- For the very first time this includes Misha. Damn the man! He studied us and now he's manipulating us into loving him like the evil puppet master he is. And it's working too! *grumps*

OH OH OH, I finally got around to watching the Doctor Who Easter Special! (I enjoy rewarding myself for Getting Things Done.) He said my (real) name! LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS. *weak knees* It's okay, Ten, I LOVE YOU TOO. \o/

As I mentioned in an earlier locked entry, I will be gone on vacation from Sunday, April 26th to Friday, May 8th. I've known this for a while and yet it managed to sneak up on me somehow. There's a ton of RL, work and DW related things that need to be done by the time I get on that plane, which means that I'll be more scarce than normal. Usually when I don't update in a while I'm still around, reading my f-list every day. This coming week I may not have the time to keep up with it, even in ?show=P mode.

I'll most likely have internet access where I'm going, but it'll be dial-up so I won't be around too much. If there's something you need me for, or don't want me to miss, you can reach me at moonilicious@gmail.com!

This entry will be imported into my Dreamwidth account right away (I usually wait a few days to save my DW sub list from duplicates), so a note to the DW folks:

dw_volunteers and the wiki are on my priority list so that should definitely get done before I leave. (If I don't hear back from all the project leaders by then, their project's info entry will go up unapproved.) I'll make sure to be on for a couple of hours a day while I'm away but I probably won't be on IRC (well, now that #dw_work exists I might give it a go, dial-up willing). If anyone needs me to update dw_volunteers with anything or has questions or whatever, do email me! At moonie.dw@gmail.com, though, to make sure it doesn't get lost in a sea of LJ/DW notifications, spam, etc. (I'm so sad I'll be missing Open Beta launch! *woe*)

Alright, I think that's it. See you around!

Already have a Dreamwidth account? Add me!

(There will be an explanatory entry about DW at some point, it'll even have polls and stuff! But I don't know when because my To Do list has grown to epic proportions and I need to get some of that done first.)
